Sustainable Housing Solutions
SHS’s perfect gift for Valentine’s Day
What’s the best Valentine’s gift the marginalised San community of the Nyae Nyae Conservancy could ever receive? The promise and start of a long awaited project that will help to sustain their culture and improve their lives.
On 14 February 2020 the Grant Agreement was signed between Sustainable Housing Solutions (SHS) and the Ju/’hoansi Development Fund. With this agreement SHS confirmed their commitment to build five entry-level mother tongue schools in the Nyae Nyae Conservancy.
These schools will be built with Baupanel technology and will include classrooms, hostels, teacher accommodation, kitchen and ablution facilities. The schools will be fully equipped with solar panels, water tanks, and furniture. The first school is to be built at the village of Den/ui hopefully starting on site in April this year.
Founder and Proprietor of SHS, Mr David Kendrick:
“I am delighted to move forward with this incredible opportunity. It is our great pleasure to be contributing to this extremely worthy cause, on behalf of a threatened indigenous minority group.“
